Internship: Bitsion

During my time in Córdoba, I had the privilege of holding an internship with Bitsion. Bitsion is a software development company that serves clients all over the world. My internship was an internal communications internship that was conducted alongside the HR department. I began the internship in mid-August through the end of November for a total of 140 hours. Carina Campo, the director of HR, was our supervisor during our time at Bitsion. Another girl in the program and I were responsible for a wide variety of different responsibilities. This chiefly consisted of an extensive analysis of Bitsion's internal communication strategy, the design of a new internal communication strategy to address company concerns, the creation of a recognition system for employees, as well as a variety of different internal communication campaigns. Our internship was completed in person with the occasional online work day.

The opportunity to hold an internship in a Spanish speaking country was very formative. I garnered valuable experience with the language in a professional context. I also learned a lot with respect to differences in professional culture. Argentina's professional culture is generally much friendlier than that of the United States. Personable working relationships was common place within Bitsion and was integral to our ability to complete the tasks we were responsible for as interns. Our supervisor made it a point to regularly include us in a wide variety of activities. This includes the opportunity to network at technology conferences and with their international clients. These opportunities were important to the development of our understanding of Bitsion's role in their industry as well as everything that goes into conducting international business. The essay linked below provides a more in depth analysis of my internship experience.
