Linguistic Proficiency:

SPAN 4090: Comprehensive Writing in Spanish

This class was an advanced grammar and composition class that I took while abroad. We were assigned the topic of euthanasia to write a paper about in order to practice our ability to discuss complex topics in Spanish.

SPAN 3020: Intermediate Spanish Grammar

This class focused on the use of more advanced grammar concepts. We were assigned different prompts to respond to in order to demonstrate the use of the concepts we had learned.

Culture and Literature:

SPAN 3980: Directed Reading

This course was a history course that I took while abroad in Argentina. For our final exam grade, we had to pick a topic of our choice pertaining to the history of Latin America and write a detailed research paper. I chose to write my paper about the coffee oligarchy in El Salvador.

SPAN 3110: Survey of Spanish-American Literature

This was the literature class I completed while abroad. We studied a variety of different styles and genres of writing that are popular in South America as well as the ways in which they differ from the literature we are familiar with in the United States. To conclude the semester, I wrote my final paper about a book titled La Masacre de Kruger and connected it with my personal experience in Argentina.

Business Competency:

MGT 4230: International Business Management

In this class, we were assigned a documentary to watch regarding the differences in cultural attitudes towards wrok and ethical labor standards between the US and China. After watching the documentary, we had to write an essay discussing the differences we observed, the problems they may pose in international expansion of a business, and how it relates to course material.

EDHC 3300: Concepts of Human Capital and Development

In this class, we had to design different tools as a means of enhancing human capital with respect to different learning theories. We discussed the importance of organizational culture at length as well as the importance of continuously educating employees. The final project was a summation of all of these tools.
